Pairing Screens
Learn how to connect and pair your screens with the Screenzzie platform
Pairing Screens
Connecting your screens to Screenzzie is simple and secure. This guide covers everything you need to know about the pairing process.
How Pairing Works
Screenzzie uses a secure 6-digit code system to pair screens. The code is generated on the TV/display itself, ensuring that only someone with physical access can initiate pairing:
- Your TV/display navigates to the activation page
- A unique 6-digit code appears on the screen
- You enter this code in your Screenzzie dashboard
- The screen connects securely to your account
Pairing codes expire after 15 minutes for security. If your code expires, simply refresh the page on your TV to get a new one.
Pairing a New Screen
Step 1: Generate Code on Your Display
On your TV or display device:
- Open a web browser
- Navigate to
play.screenzzie.com/activate - A 6-digit pairing code will appear on screen
- Keep this screen visible while you complete the next step
Player URLs by Environment:
- Production: play.screenzzie.com/activate
- Development: play-dev.screenzzie.com/activate
- Self-hosted: Your custom domain + /activate
Step 2: Enter Code in Dashboard
- Log in to your Screenzzie dashboard
- Navigate to Screens in the sidebar
- Click Add Screen
- Enter the 6-digit code from your TV
- Give your screen a descriptive name (e.g., "Reception TV", "Menu Board 1")
- Click Pair
The screen will immediately connect and show a confirmation message.
Using the Screenzzie Player App
If you're using our dedicated player app:
- Launch the Screenzzie Player app
- The activation screen appears automatically with a 6-digit code
- Enter this code in your dashboard as described above
Re-Pairing an Existing Screen
If you need to reconnect a screen that was previously paired (e.g., after replacing hardware):
Method 1: From the TV (Recommended)
- On the new device, go to
play.screenzzie.com/activate - A new 6-digit code appears
- In your dashboard, you can either:
- Delete the old screen and add a new one with the code
- Use the existing screen's settings to re-pair
Method 2: From the Dashboard
For screens that are already in your dashboard but need to be re-paired:
- Go to Screens and click on the screen
- Navigate to the Settings tab
- Click Generate New Pairing Code
- A code will appear in the dashboard
- On your TV, go to
play.screenzzie.com/activate - Enter this dashboard-generated code on the TV
Dashboard-generated codes are for re-pairing existing screens only. For new screens, always start from the TV to generate the code.
