Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to get your digital signage up and running.
What You'll Need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A TV or monitor with HDMI input
- A compatible media player (Raspberry Pi, Android TV box, or any device with a web browser)
- An internet connection
- A Screenzzie account (sign up for a free trial if you haven't already)
Step 1: Sign Up and Log In
- Go to screenzzie.com and click Start Free Trial
- Enter your email and create a password
- Verify your email address
- Log in and complete the onboarding:
- Enter your organization/business name
- Select your business category
- Click Create Organization
Your 7-day free trial includes all Growth plan features, including Sequences and Schedules. No credit card required.
Step 2: Connect Your Display
First, set up the TV or monitor where you want to display content:
- Turn on your TV/display and connect your media player
- Open a web browser on the device
- Navigate to play.screenzzie.com/activate
- A 6-digit pairing code will appear on screen
Keep this code visible - you'll need to enter it in your dashboard. The code expires after 15 minutes. If it expires, simply refresh the page to get a new code.
Step 3: Pair in Dashboard
Now, go to your Screenzzie dashboard:
- Navigate to Screens in the left sidebar
- Click the Add Screen button
- Enter the 6-digit code displayed on your TV
- Give your screen a name (e.g., "Lobby Display")
- Click Pair
Your screen will automatically connect and display a confirmation message.
The flow is: TV shows code, you enter it in dashboard. This ensures only someone with physical access to the display can pair it.
Step 4: Upload Your Content
- Go to Media in the left sidebar
- Click Upload or drag and drop files
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, MP4, WebM
- Wait for upload to complete
Maximum file size is 100MB for videos and 10MB for images.
Step 5: Create a Playlist
- Navigate to Playlists
- Click New Playlist
- Name your playlist (e.g., "Welcome Messages")
- Click Add Items and select your uploaded media
- Set duration for each item (default is 10 seconds for images)
- Save your playlist
Step 5.5: Configure Your Screen (Optional)
Before assigning content, you may want to configure your screen settings:
- Go to Screens and click on your screen
- In the Settings tab, you can:
- Set orientation - Portrait or Landscape mode
- Enable rotation - Rotate display 90, 180, or 270 degrees
- Assign to a group - Organize screens by location or purpose
- Set timezone - Important for scheduled content
- Click Save to apply changes
Step 6: Assign Playlist to Screen
- Go back to Screens
- Click on your screen
- In the Content tab, select your playlist
- Click Save
Your screen will automatically update and start showing your content!
